Cantina Frentana, founded in 1958, is one of the top wine estates in Abruzzo. Protected to the west by the slopes of the Majella Massif and the neighbouring nature reserve and caressed by the gentle breezes of the Adriatic to the east, the vineyards hug medieval towns and villages whose mighty towers and fortified walls blend in perfectly with the surrounding hills.
Typical Abruzzo vines are cultivated here, from the classic Montepulciano and Trebbiano to the less familiar Pecorino, a white autochthonous grape which is becoming increasingly important to the local viniculture.
The winery, which operates a state-of-the-art vinification system, has been built to blend in with the historic architecture of the region. The Cantina's 'wine tower' gives the ensemble its unique character.
A team of agronomists ensures that only grapes of the best quality are processed here. The Cantina's perfect symbiosis of traditional wine-making processes and the latest technology guarantees the production of excellent wines.
This fruity, balanced rosé has a delicate fragrance of raspberries and red cherries. Its radiant colour is stimulating, its flavour fresh and consistently dry.
Pecorino is a subtle, characterful grape that has been revived in the Abruzzi region of Italy. There's a tantalising minerality on the nose leading to a concentrated, crisp palate with real depth and class.
