The Certosa di Belriguardo (Belriguardo Charterhouse) stands high on one of the hills surrounding Siena, about 7 kilometres from the city centre. The site ideally fits into the breath-taking Tuscan landscape, where vines and olive trees joyfully take turns in an array of colours and sceneries that are characteristic for this traditional vine-growing area.
The winery, stretching over some 75 hectares, of which only 8 hectares are planted with vineyards, is located in the middle of the Chianti region 'Colline Senesi'. Here, the Sangiovese vine plays the central role.
This ruby-red wine has hints of cherry blossom and a full body, with balanced tannins. Reminding you of solar and lunar eclipses, it is a wine for night and day.
