The antique passion for vineyard and olive cultivation of the family of Giannattasio di Barile is first described in a document dated January 21, 1872. Located in the province of Potenza, Barile is renowned for the production of Aglianico, an autochthonous wine that has already been cited by Orazio. In 2003, Arcangelo Giannattasio, a young entrepreneur, rediscovered the peculiarities of this ancient grape and, aided by his father Michele who was born in Barile, re-established the antique nature of his grandfather's terrains. Together with his mother, Carla, and guided by expert wine-growers, Arcangelo Giannattasio has regenerated the vines and facilities with the aim to increase quality and to be competitive on the global market.

It is already served in famous restaurants across New York and California. Divina Food AG is proud to exclusively offer this wine to the Swiss market.
