Vallarom is the ancient name for the valley of 'Valeron'. Due to erosion the soil is stony, calcareous, clayey and contains little humus. The windy and balanced climate of the lake 'Garda', highly appreciated by surfers, also has its impact on the nature of this zone. The vines are very strong and yield small amounts of aromatic grapes resistant to fungal decay.
In 1963, the winery was taken over by the family Scienza and currently comprises 8 hectares of land that are surrounded by a secondary forest. Together with his wife, Giuseppina, Ezio Scienza has planted the first seedlings, carefully cultivating them over many years.
Today, his son, Filippo Scienza, and his wife, Barbara, are running the winery in a charming and dedicated way.
Filippo complemented his traditional background and experience with a thorough education at the 'Istituto Agrario of San Michele all'Adige', the 'Centre de Formation Professionelle et de Promotion Agricole de Beaune (Bourgogne)' and the 'School of Agriculture, Purdue University California'. The combination of climate, soil, experience and tradition results in wines of great character that flatter the palate.
This fine wine is aged in barrels for 18 months and is characterised by an intense nose with hints of ripe fruit and spices. Its ornately refined body promises an unforgettable taste experience.
